School Workshops

Become more confident in teaching Computing in an embedded curriculum

Computing4KidsNE offer

Half day and full day workshops for EYFS, KS1 or KS2

Providing children with a stimulating environment enables children to explore and achieve. Allowing children time to investigate and understand that 'getting it wrong' is part of the learning process.

Being able to harness children's natural curiosity and guide them rather than instruct allows children to progress more rapidly.

Sessions are developed around the needs and experience of the children being taught and to support teachers in developing computing within their setting. Whether this is as a stand alone subject or incorporated into topic/subject focused teaching. Adding key computing skill and embedding them in the curriculum.

Support and staff CPD is based on the assessment made through a preliminary meeting. This support and CPD can taker the form of;

  • One/Block Classroom Workshops

  • Staff meetings

  • INSET training days

  • Team teaching

  • Curriculum development

A 'team teach' approach enables staff to become more confident in delivering the computing curriculum.  Through participating in workshops and observing the delivery, assessment teachers learn how to confidently embed the skills and challenge all groups of children.

Curriculum planning and assessment will be uniquely developed based around the model that exists in your school. Develop planning and assessment that embeds key skills in your wider curriculum and support teachers in their subject knowledge and delivery of all aspects of the computing curriculum.
